When you think of great soccer players the ones that come to find are as followed: Ronaldo, Pele or Maradona. One is always the best, Lionel Andrés Messi in this case; or as the public calls him “Leo Messi”. “Messi” for short is one of the most successful football players ever in history.

His story begins on the 24 of June, 1987 at Rosario, Santa F, Hospital. This hospital, located in Argentina, is one of the most efficient hospitals in its Country. He was diagnosed with growth hormone defiency . As his health improved, over the years he would flourish with his natural abilities with the ball. At age 13 he relocated to Spain to join FC Barcelona (Because they offered to pay for his hormone treatments).

In the year 2006 he won the young soccer player of the year award. The following year he would win it again and the next year as well. He would continue to play with Barcelona for the following 4 years. As the 2008 Olympics approached he was asked to play for Argentina. He agreed and led the team straight to gold.

Over his years of practice and games eventually Lionel Messi would marry Antolla Rocuzzo they were declared married in 2008. With a child on the way. Messi would continue to again play for Barcelona. As the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 rolled away. Messi would be the only soccer player in history to ever win le ballon d’or four times in a row. Or even four times in general. Since 2010 Lionel Messi would earn an unusual nickname “La Pluga” which translates to the flea in English. He was named this because on the field he may be lacking in height but he is as speedy or speedier then most other athletes.

His son Thiago Messi (born Nov. 2 2012) inspired Messi to strike out and help his home town community’s he has set up multiple charity’s to help others, but his most outstanding achievement he’s done in his charity work is donating 1 million euros a year to Israel’s communities. This incredible amount is equivalent to a whopping 1417, 918 dollars Canadian!! As of right now Lionel Andrés Messi is continuing that yearly commitment to Israel and has appeared on multiple video games cover or in the game but his most famous is being on the cover of Fifa 14, 15, and 16.

In the end Lionel Andrés Messi is and will always be one of the most successful football players ever will be and a good inspiration to non or young player’s soccer players around the world for generations to come.
